SIGMA RIDE

You can continue to view and analyze the activities recorded with your ROX bike computer in detail as usual, and share them with third-party platforms such as Strava, komoot, and other services. The SIGMA CLOUD also remains fully available, so your data will continue to be securely synchronized and stored.

SIGMA RIDE Premium applies exclusively to navigation used directly with the app — that is, without a ROX bike computer. In addition, the Premium features apply to activities recorded directly with the app: with Premium, these activities can be analyzed in detail and shared with third-party platforms. Synchronization of these app activities with SIGMA CLOUD is also possible with SIGMA RIDE Premium.

The SIGMA RIDE app is available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app can be installed from Android version 8.0 and iOS version 14.

• 1. Check if Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
• 2. Turn on your device.
• 3. Check if a the pairing between your SIGMA bike computer and the app was successful (see also our tutorials videos PAIRING TO A SMARTPHONE).
• 4. If you still do not see a successful pairing/connection between your SIGMA bike computer and the app, please follow the steps below:
  • a. Open the system settings of your smartphone
  • b. Go to the section “Connections/Bluetooth” to view the list of all available or connected Bluetooth devices.
  • c. Tap on your SIGMA device and remove it from the list.
    • i. iOS: Tap on “Ignore device”.
    • ii. Android: Tap on “Unpair device”.
• 5. Close the system settings of your smartphone and open the SIGMA RIDE app.
• 6. Open the section “Settings” and tap on “Manage device”.
• 7. Remove your SIGMA device from the SIGMA RIDE app (swipe to remove a device).
• 8. Then disconnect the SIGMA device itself by opening the settings menu on the device.
• 9. Open the section “Connection/RIDE App” and disconnect your device from your smartphone.
• 10. After following these steps, the pairing process between device and SIGMA RIDE app can be re-established.

On Android 8 – Android 11, Bluetooth requires location activation to scan for devices. For this reason, the app asks for access to the location when a SIGMA device is to be connected. Please assign access rights to the SIGMA Ride app and activate the location to establish a successful connection and use between the app and the device.

• Go to More –> Sigma / VDO Accessories
• Add your sensor as a new device (“+“ on Android, “Add“ on iOS)
• Click the sensor in the list
• Go to Firmware in the submenu

The RIDE app is only compatible with SIGMA sensors. These can be connected to retrieve status information or install a firmware update.

Track planning now has its own home. To do this, tap on the plus symbol at the bottom right in the Tracks area on Android and on “Add” at the top right on iOS and select “Create track“. Here you can compile and save your tracks or routes as you wish.

Search & Go is now even easier. Select one or more destinations and start your journey straight away – it’s easy! If you want to plan and save a route or track instead, you will find this separately under Tracks.

The idea behind Search & Go is simple: you select one or more destination points and set off immediately. This means that the starting point is always your current location. If you want to set off from a different location instead, you can create a route or track in the Tracks area and select it for your journey.

With a track, the route to be travelled is fixed. If you leave it, the Ride app informs you with an “Off Track” message – you then have to find your way back to the track yourself. With a route, on the other hand, only the destination points are fixed; if you leave the route, a new route is determined that navigates you to your next destination. If you use Search & Go, a route is always created; this is temporary and is not saved.

Yes, if you have created this track/route with the Ride app version 2.2 or higher, you can edit the destinations or route. To do this, select “Edit track” or “Edit route” in the context menu of the track/route. You cannot edit tracks that you have imported from third-party portals or via GPX/KML/Fit.

In the user settings, you can save 5 more favourites in addition to the home and work address. You can then set these locations as destinations in the routing using the icon at the top right. In addition, the Ride app automatically saves the last 20 destinations, which can be selected in the routing via the search bar. If you want to favour a planned route or a planned track instead, you can do this using the favourites star under Tracks.

At the bottom right of the map is an icon for setting the routing options. Choose from four options here. If you select paths/cycle paths, for example, you can avoid motorways.

You can add further destinations by pressing and holding on the map or using the ‘Add point’ option. New destinations are initially placed at the end of the list. You can change the order of the intermediate destinations at any time by holding down the symbol with the three dashes and moving the destination to the desired position.

Here you have two options.
To import tracks from STRAVA and Komoot into the RIDE app, an existing connection to STRAVA/Komoot is required. Connect to Strava/Komoot via Settings -> Cloud & Apps, then the tracks will be displayed in the tracklist when the connection is active. Only planned tours from Komoot will be synchronised if you have an active Premium subscription or if the region was activated before February 2025. The tracks can be filtered using the filter function in the list.
If you want to import tracks from other third-party portals, you have the option of importing them into the RIDE App as a GPX, Fit or KML file. In the track list, select the plus icon (Android) or “Add” (iOS) and then “Import Track File”. Here you have the option to add turn-by-turn directions to the track, the track will then be saved as a SIGMA track in the app.

To transfer a track to a device, select ‘Transfer to device’ in the context menu. The track is automatically marked as a favourite. Alternatively, you can mark the track as a favourite on the Rox11.1 and Rox12.1 by setting the star marker. The favourite tracks are then played on the device during device synchronisation.

STRAVA has its own algorithm for calculating the data, we have no access to it/no control over it.

Tracks that you have created via the Ride app or imported via GPX/KML/Fit can be deleted under Tracks via the context menu or by swiping from left to right on the smartphone display. Tracks from third-party providers (Komoot, Strava) must be deleted in the third-party provider portal. As we only synchronise these as data from the application. The data management remains with the third-party provider.

Open the SIGMA RIDE APP and select the device you are using.
In the Sport profiles tab, you can delete the corresponding sport profile by swiping from right to left.

In the general settings of the SIGMA RIDE app, the voice output for turning guidance and the activity status can be deactivated.

Yes, connect the SIGMA sensors for heart rate, cadence and speed to the RIDE app and start an activity from the app. Have fun!

You can filter the statistics by week, month and year. You can select the sports to be displayed and below the diagram you can choose between the number of activities, distance travelled, training time covered and altitude climbed. In the activity list, you can filter by sport, SIGMA devices, distance, activity time and uphill altitude by clicking on the filter icon at the top left. You can also search for the name of an activity using the search bar at the top.

The RIDE App uses maps from Mapbox. Telemetry is enabled by default to continuously improve map quality. This increases the app’s power consumption, even when it is running in the background.
You can disable telemetry by tapping the info icon on the map.
