RIDE RADAR. RIDE SAFE. SIGMA presents RECO 80 LINK and RECO 81 LINK – intelligent radar for maximum safety on the road
With the new, connected RECO radar rear lights, SIGMA is bringing technology to the road that warns cyclists earlier and at the same time makes them clearly visible to following traffic.
Neustadt an der Weinstraße, 3 December 2025 With the growing importance of bicycles in everyday life and leisure, as well as increasingly complex traffic situations, the demand for reliable safety technology and smart support is on the rise. This is exactly where SIGMA RECO Radar comes in, combining precise radar technology with intelligent light functions and networked communication between front and rear lights, bike computers and the RIDE app.

Early warning and clearly visible to the rear
The integrated radar technology of the RECO models detects approaching vehicles in a wide 60° corridor at a distance of up to 140 metres. The system can detect up to eight objects simultaneously – precisely, reliably and in real time. A bright warning light clearly signals to following traffic that there is a cyclist ahead. Additional safety features such as brake light and emergency brake light functions increase visibility and help to avoid risky situations.
When connected to a radar-compatible GPS bike computer, RECO LINK becomes a digital rear-view mirror, providing cyclists with a visual and acoustic representation of rear traffic on the display. RECO 80/81 LINK distinguishes between objects approaching at normal speed and those approaching quickly. This makes road traffic more predictable for both sides.
Custom made safety for Germany and the international market
RECO 80 LINK was developed specifically for the German market. The integrated rear light complies with StVZO regulations and combines maximum brightness with full radar performance. It has a runtime of up to 15 hours.
The RECO 81 LINK is available for international markets – with a total of six light modes, including a peloton mode for glare-free riding in a group. Regardless of the light mode, radar performance and safety functions remain identical.

Flexible mounting options
Thanks to various adapters, the RECO models can be flexibly mounted on different seat posts, including round seat posts, D-shaped posts and aero variants.

Smart and connected
Another key highlight of the new RECO product category at SIGMA is its versatile connectivity. In combination with the AURA 100 front light, the radar and front light can be paired via Bluetooth using the popular LINK protocol. This allows the rear light to be conveniently controlled via the front light, and the battery level can be read directly at the front – a clear gain in clarity and ease of use.
Using the ANT+ radar profile, the RECO models can also be connected to the SIGMA ROX 12.1 EVO or ROX 11.1 EVO GPS bike computers and other devices that support the ANT+ radar profile. Cyclists then receive visual and acoustic warning signals as soon as vehicles approach from behind – for significantly improved responsiveness and greater safety on the road.
From spring 2026, SIGMA RIDE app users will also be able to benefit from the safety features of the RECO models. The RIDE app will then also offer the option of being alerted to approaching vehicles both acoustically and visually. Until then, the RECO 80 LINK and RECO 81 LINK can be connected to the RIDE app to display the status and perform firmware updates.
Maximum safety for everyone on the road.
‘With RECO, we have developed a radar product that not only lights up, but also thinks for itself,’ says Daniel Conka, Division Manager Product Concept at SIGMA. ‘The precise radar warning enables a much more anticipatory and safer riding style. In combination with the AURA 100 LINK front light and the ROX GPS bike computers, the result is an intelligent, networked system that makes safety an intuitive experience. The goal remains the same: maximum safety for everyone who cycles.’

Availability and price
